IREX.ai is seeking a Grants Strategist to lead our public sector grant efforts across state, local, education (K-12 + higher ed), and federal agencies. You will identify funding opportunities, translate them into implementable IREX solutions, and drive compliant, competitive submissions that enable agencies to deliver real-time situational awareness and safety outcomes.
This is not a generic grant-writing role: you will act as a bridge between funding language (allowable costs, program priorities, evidence requirements) and IREX technology (AI video analytics, integrated security IoT, responsible/ethical deployment). You will shape solutions to fit grant criteria while keeping deliverables fundable, realistic, and procurement-ready.
What You Will Own
Discover and Prioritize Grants: Build a live pipeline of relevant opportunities across education safety, public safety, transit security, emergency management, and critical infrastructure programs. Evaluate eligibility, allowable costs, scoring priorities, and implementation timelines to recommend which opportunities to pursue.
Craft Winning Proposals: Lead narrative, project plan, and budget development. Ensure submissions are evidence-based, compliant, and aligned with grant rubrics - not marketing hype.
Shape Solutions Strategically: Translate grant requirements into IREX solution packages, defining scope, phases, training, modules, and deliverables that map to scoring criteria and funding rules.
Coordinate Stakeholders: Work with agencies, partners (integrators, OEMs, nonprofits), and internal teams (product, engineering, legal, finance) to gather inputs and ensure high-quality submissions.
Budgeting & Compliance: Build defensible line-item budgets, track allowable costs, and ensure alignment with implementation, licensing, and support models. Support post-award planning for reporting, metrics, and documentation.

Who You Are
Required Experience:
5+ years in grants strategy, grant writing, or public sector funding roles.
Demonstrated success with SLED and/or Federal programs (education, public safety, emergency management).
Strong knowledge of grant mechanics: eligibility, allowable costs, match requirements, reporting, and compliance.
Experience shaping program scopes and budgets to fit funding criteria.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with technology, AI, IoT, security, or enterprise software proposals.
Familiarity with agencies, school districts, higher ed, transit authorities, or federal programs.
Collaborative experience with primes, integrators, or consortia partnerships.
