What does IREX exist to do?
Make communities safer without compromising the values that make them worth protecting. The tagline is “Everyone Deserves to Live in Safety”, and the missing-persons work with child-protection organizations is the part of the portfolio that decides whether the rest of it deserves to exist.
What makes this ethical AI rather than marketing?
The constraints are in the architecture, not in a policy document. Every facial-recognition search requires a Case ID referencing a lawful basis such as a court order, every high-risk action lands in a non-erasable, tamper-evident audit trail, and the platform identifies only pre-registered persons — it cannot recognize or track a random individual. Ethical AI sets out the six pillars and the mechanism enforcing each.
Who owns the data, and who can see it?
The customer, entirely. IREX deploys on infrastructure the customer controls, on premises or fully offline, and neither owns nor accesses customer video, events, logs or floor plans. Access inside a deployment is governed by role-based permissions, and daily signed log exports are available to independent oversight bodies.
Does IREX turn work down?
Yes. Prospective clients are screened and IREX declines parties it judges high-risk on data collection and security. Where bias exists its estimated impact is published rather than omitted, and where a certification is absent that is stated plainly. These are stated positions rather than preferences, and they are why the deployments that exist hold up to review.
