In a powerful demonstration of ethical AI in action, IREX technology was featured on live television as it helped authorities in Miraflores locate a missing elderly man.

During the broadcast, officials entered the man’s photo into the IREX system. Within minutes, the AI identified him across multiple district surveillance cameras. The system not only confirmed his identity with percentage-based similarity matches but also traced his movement route through the city, providing real-time, actionable intelligence.

“We uploaded it to the system, and the system immediately began searching. It gives you percentages — here it’s the same face, here it gives you another very similar one. Once we confirm the analysis, the information is passed on to the team responsible for locating the person on the street,” explained Mario Arata, Head of Citizen Security for Miraflores, during the live segment.

This successful recovery underscores how AI can be deployed responsibly to strengthen public safety. By integrating with existing municipal cameras, IREX empowers districts to respond faster, prevent tragedies, and support families when time matters most.
