IREX Hybrid Architecture Enables Three Deployment Models

2022-05-03 19:06 Architecture
IREX hybrid architecture enables three deployment options to make most of the telecommunication infrastructure of your city. These options can mixed and matched together in a single  video network.

Regardless of the deployment model, all the users, cameras, AI modules, and server updates are centrally managed from the IREX Secure Cloud. All  the users will have the same seamless experience with any camera regardless of the type of connection.

Option 1: Direct Camera Connection

Best for

  • Urban environment with fiber optics infrastructure
  • Metro and railway lines with fiber optics infrastructure

How it works

  • Cameras are connected directly to the IREX Secure Cloud
  • Live video streams are continuously uploaded to the IREX Secure Cloud
  • AI-powered video analytics runs in real-time in the IREX Secure Cloud
  • Video and events are centrally stored in the IREX Secure Cloud

Benefits

  • No on-prem server hardware needed
  • Unlimited scalability by cameras, users, AI modules, and retention period
  • High availability configuration
  • Off-site analytics and storage

Limitations

  • No offline video recording and analytics
  • Stable broadband required to upload live video streams
  • VPN router required to provide traffic encryption, if the IREX Secure Cloud is outside the camera network

Option 2: High Availability Edge Server

Best for

  • Large transportation hubs (airports, railway and metro stations)
  • Intercity video surveillance networks

How it works

  • Cameras are connected to the IREX Edge Server deployed on premises
  • AI-powered video analytics runs in real-time on premises
  • Video and events are stored on premises
  • Only alerts are sent to the IREX Secure Cloud
  • Videos are uploaded to the IREX Secured Cloud on-demand

Benefits

  • Minimum bandwidth required between transportation hubs and cities
  • Offline video recording and analytics
  • High availability configuration
  • Edge server provides traffic encryption

Limitations

  • More expensive hardware and maintenance

Option 3: Cost Effective Edge Server

Best for

  • Remote sites with limited bandwidth (e.g. gas stations, border control)
  • In-carriage video surveillance (e.g. trains, buses)

How it works

  • Same as Option 2

Benefits

  • Minimum bandwidth required (can work with 3G, 4G, and 5G networks)
  • Offline video recording and analytics
  • Edge server provides traffic encryption
  • Low server costs

Limitations

  • No video recording available if the IREX Edge Server is offline
  • No IREX Edge Server backup
  • Limited number of concurrent users that can connect the remote site
